As an Automation and Controls Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and modifying controls and automation systems. You will troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on various automated production equipment, with minimum supervision. Strong experience with PLCs, HMIs, furnace controls, automation and control system design, electronic troubleshooting and repair and hands-on troubleshooting will assure your success in this role.
• Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, or related discipline (or the equivalent in combined education and experience) • 5-7 years of automation maintenance experience and/or automation projects experience in a manufacturing environment • Experience with Allen-Bradley Controllogix and SLC platform PLCs, PLC-programming experience with Rockwell Software RSLogix 500 and 5000 software • Experience with Allen-Bradley/Yaskawa variable-frequency AC drives and reduced voltage starters • Experience specifying, installing and troubleshooting thermocouples, pressure transducers, proximity sensors, etc. • Proficiency with troubleshooting, including electrical/electronic circuits, and with tools, including electronic testing equipment • Working knowledge of Windows-based PCs and Microsoft Office applications • Excellent communication skills with an ability to relate well to individuals at all levels • Experience with welding power supply systems (a plus) • Flexibility with work schedule and ability to work Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, rotating days and overtime, as needed on projects and during breakdowns
