General Summary The West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is a membership based 501(c)(6) organization serving the West Michigan Hispanic business community. The Executive Director serves as the lead person within the organization and is tasked with providing oversight as well as implementation of the organization's strategic plan. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, multi-tasking individual with the skillset to work independently and as a team member. The Executive Director will work closely with the Chamber Board to cast and implement the vision of the organization. This person reports to the President of the Board.
Revenue growth through membership, partnership and stakeholder development. Financial management of the Chamber. This person will be responsible for creating and adhering to annual budget,accounts payable&receivable, and cash flow management. Managerial oversight of the functional areas such as marketing, operations, and membership development, as well as the day-to-day activities of the Chamber. This includes supervisory responsibilities of Chamber staff. Effective and efficient utilization of the Chamber's client management information system resulting in strong membership communication and reporting. Develop and execute Chamber programing activities such as monthly membership meetings, networking events, career fair, annual awards events,etc. Develop and maintain relationships, as well as seek out beneficial collaborations, with key stakeholders throughout West Michigan. Work with Committee chairs, ambassadors, members, and volunteers to move the goals of the Chamber forward. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of small businesses support resources, including public, private, and non-profit programs.
Bachelor's degree in business or related field. Past success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing Board member relationships. Demonstrated success creating and managing budgets. Minimum four years demonstrated experience working with the Hispanic business community. Availability to work some evening and weekend hours and ability to travel to and from various client/business meetings throughout West Michigan. Strong networking, presentation, and public speaking skills. Prior experience with Foundations preferred. Demonstrated organizational skills and timely achievement of quality results in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
