As our Electronic Engineering Tech, you will review and modify existing equipment as required, perform system evaluations and support electrical design and automation system programming for all plant manufacturing operations. You will also perform root-cause analysis, as you troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated production systems. This role will be responsible for upgrading and integrating existing equipment with new automation. You will also interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and layouts. Your ability to troubleshoot electrical wiring, relay logic, control and safety circuits, as well as repair electronic boards, PLC’s, touch screens, displays, contractors, and motors is a must. You will also troubleshoot automated systems related to production and plant support equipment ranging from single-phase to three-phase equipment along with voltages ranging from 5VDC - 480 VAC, radio frequency transmitters and receivers used in crane applications.
To qualify you must be a team player in order to generate CAD drawings using AutoCAD and assemble control panels from CAD drawings. Proficiency with PLC systems, along with the ability to troubleshoot and modify PL -program code and program documentation is required. You should have experience with Allen-Bradley Controllogix and SLC platform PLCs, PLC programming with Rockwell Software RSLogix 500 and 5000 software. Also necessary is HMI programming experience, which needs to be FactoryTalk M.E. and/or S.E and/or Panelbuilder 32 software. We’re also looking for experience with Allen-Bradley/Yaskawa variable frequency AC drives and reduced voltage starters, thermocouples, pressure transducers, proximity sensors, etc. Experience with welding power supply systems is a plus. Your excellent communication skills and the ability to relate well to a wide range of constituents will serve you well here. You must be able to work a flexible schedule and work weekends, Holidays, rotating days, and OT as needed on projects and during breakdowns. You will have any combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, automation, or related discipline, and specialized training along with 5-7 years of automation maintenance experience and/or automation projects experience in a manufacturing environment.
