This is the best price for a '77 RS in this condition I have seen in years. Rare early 1977 R100RS (10/1976 #136 in the USA all matching numbers) with 40mm exhaust in beautiful satin blue with Lester mag wheels and Krauser luggage. Bike has about 78,850 miles on it and runs great! I purchased this bike in 2014 after it had been sitting since 2008. About $8,000 has been spent purchasing and restoring it back into reliable, safe, ridable condition.
Recent work includes transmission rebuilt by The Beemer Shop, new brake lines, Michelin Pilot Activ tires, battery, throttle & clutch cables, carb diaphragms, spark plugs and wires, starter and horn relays, petcocks and braided fuel line. When the transmission was out the clutch was inspected and found like new, of course the input spines were lubed.
Hansenís BMW in Medford, OR completed an inspection/tune-up this spring. They replace the points and condenser, several o-rings in the carbs, balanced the carbs, adjusted the valves, and set the timing. A compression test revealed both cylinders have 145 psi compression.
Per the previous owner: In 2005 cylinders inspected and new rings installed, new clutch, progressive springs and new fork seals. In 2008 the master cylinder and starter were replaced.
I removed the lower fairing to complete some maintenance and liked the look better; however, the complete fairing is included. The lower right portion of the fairing could use some fiberglass work where a mounting point is pulling through.
