SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist will be a strategic business partner and provide guidance regarding HR policy and administration, employee relations, and managing change within departments.
Represent local management on an assigned basis in its relationship in grievances, arbitration and other procedural matters. Develop and regularly work a grievance/complaint processing improvement plan that supports timely and effective resolution of grievance/complaint at lowest possible steps. Provide leadership and guidance in with the Supervisor, Labor Relations Manager for contract administration, including specific direction for maintenance and production supervision in proper grievance processing. Provide direction and influence to supervision and union stewardship in order to foster relationships of good faith dealings and mutual respect for their roles and responsibilities. Serve as an employee advocate to represent the needs of individuals or the group to the management team.
Bachelor’s degree required Minimum of three years’ experience required in a manufacturing plant. Labor relations/union experience involving collective bargaining, contract administration, or administrative hearings in the personnel field A strong functional background is required, as are managerial and leadership skills and the ability to motivate people.
Master's degree is preferred SHRM-CP or PHR certification Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Possess a high degree of interpersonal skills as he/she must motivate and influence others. Demonstrated the ability to deal effectively with people under varying circumstances.
