Director: David O. Brown
Narration: Ted Danson
At the turn of the 20th century, Leopold Blaschka and his son, Rudolf, developed a successful business
producing glass models of soft-bodied undersea creatures—marine invertebrates. Brown’s film, employs
Cornell’s Blaschka collection to highlight the need for the conservation of the world’s oceans. This is a blend of
art, science and history, using antique glass sea creatures as a time capsule with which to compare today's ocean
against that of 150 years ago. The film is a call to arms, designed to inspire people to apply whatever skills they
have to solving the urgent environmental problems facing our ocean.
*An homage to National Parks 100 years will precede the feature film thanks to Denis Jensen

of a sudden, web series, 3D storytelling, and digital comics have become the new normal. The NMFF is always
looking to the future, challenging creators, the market and the audience to discover new storytelling. There are
not many festivals pushing the limits. Go NMFF!” - Academy Award-winning producer Nicholas Reed
"New technologies have empowered and enabled creators outside of a studio or network system to make their
own movies and develop cutting edge entertainment. Affordable cameras and editing software allows artists to
create and express their skills for a multitude of new distribution platforms. We are presently witness of how
