HR Business Partner
Cleveland & Akron, OH*

In this pivotal role, you will provide HR leadership and support for the Cargill Deicing Technology Mine location in Cleveland, Ohio, and the Salt facility in Akron. As part of the leadership teams of both facilities, you will serve as the primary point of contact for approximately 300 employees. Using your superior organizational skills, you will build relationships, prioritize and manage employee/labor relations and multiple projects. You will aid in the development of programs and processes, and participate in Corporate and BU initiatives such as employee engagement, training, performance management and development. HR Generalist activities include hiring and onboarding of site salaried and hourly employees, coaching of supervisors, legal compliance, and more. Importantly, you will partner with BU Client HR Manager for insight in the areas of talent, culture, and change at the facility and to, above all, foster a cohesive, unified culture.

To qualify, you should hold a Bachelor’s degree and possess two or more years of HR experience, or four-plus years of related HR experience in lieu of a degree. PHR certification is preferred. You must have a proven ability to communicate effectively and work well with various levels of the organization, as well as external customers. You’ll also need demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills, and an ability to think and act independently and contribute to the team. Strong multitasking and Microsoft Office skills are also necessary. Industrial HR Generalist experience that includes Labor/Employee Relations would be extremely advantageous. Other desirables include performance management, a general understanding of Federal and State Employment Laws and expertise with PeopleSoft and Kronos.

Note: you must be willing and able to work underground (1,800 ft. under Lake Erie) at least six times a year.
