Guidance, Navigation & Control Engineer/Scientist Huntsville, Alabama In this essential role, you will supplement research, development and engineering activities by providing hands-on guidance, navigation and control functional engineering support to the Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center (AMRDEC) in the area of missile and aviation system research and development. You will perform modeling and simulation on missile systems, reference trade studies in determining increase in performance of autopilot design, re-optimize guidance, preflight predictions, post flight tests, and more. To qualify, you should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (a math or physics degree with relevant experience will be considered, as well) and possess five to twenty years (ten to fifteen would be perfect) of experience in the areas of guidance, navigation and control. Your specialty may be in one or more of the following areas: guidance laws, control theory, autopilots, inertial sensors/systems, GPS/INS integration, Kalman filters, modeling and simulation, Hardware-in-the-Loop 6-DOF (degree of freedom) simulation, common filters, control systems, and navigation systems. Good organizational and written/verbal communication skills are a must. Furthermore, you should be detail oriented with good analytical skills and be a team player. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
