A wonderful opportunity currently exists for a qualified Registered Dietician.
Registered Dietician Nebraska In this position, you will work primarily from a hospital setting, where you will perform individual nutrition assessment and provide tailored dietary recommendations and nutrition education to individuals, couples, and families of all ages in a culturally sensitive manner. To succeed in this role, you will need to participate in on-going education and training on related topics, and learning or counseling-skills workshops and service programs. To qualify, you should be a Registered Dietician through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.* You must also hold licensure as a Medical Nutrition Therapist through the State of Nebraska’s Department of Health. You’ll need three years of related, professional experience (which includes supervised practice/dietetic internship experience, graduate course work) or the equivalent, and demonstrated teaching ability and effective communication skills. Importantly, you’ll have a deep understanding of the social and cultural context of American Indian/Alaskan Native communities. Basic knowledge of diabetes prevention and treatment, and advanced computer skills that include Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Publisher are needed. Other requisites include excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, plus attention to detail. CPR and Basic First Aid certification, or an ability to acquire, is a must. You must also be willing to become a Certified Diabetes Educator. A valid driver’s license and ability to meet driver’s eligibility guidelines are required. All candidates must be able to pass a drug test and a background check.
