As a Team Lead for Simulation and Modeling, you will apply your strong experience in chemical thermal, computational modeling and mechanical fluid heat transfer as you commandeer all phases of research and development, including the design, analysis and testing of laboratory and prototype systems. Your highly honed leadership abilities and mathematical prowess will assist in leading collaborative teams of engineers and scientists, and coordinating with others in the use and development of computational modeling toolsets. Ultimately, you will contribute to the development of custom, software toolsets and champion the use of Commercial-Of-The-Shelf (COTS) and custom software toolsets for the design and analysis of state-of-the-art, magnetic refrigeration systems. To qualify, you must hold a Master’s or PhD degree in Engineering, Materials or Physical Sciences, or Applied Computational Mathematics. Your five-plus years of relevant work experience will include a minimum of one year of leadership experience, i.e., defining technical plans, tasks, schedules, and priorities. Your background should demonstrate solid expertise in developing and using both custom and COTS computational and analytical tools to solve partial differential equations (PDEs) and perform systems optimization for engineering (mechanical, heat transfer, fluid flow or electromagnetic) applications. Proficiency in the use of COTS FEA toolsets (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL) in support of the design and analysis of prototypes or products is desirable. Candidates will have strong programming skills in a high-level language suitable for numerical computation (C++, Fortran 95) and demonstrated knowledge of the application of thermodynamic and transport phenomena fundamentals in the formulation of engineering PDEs. Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills are required; a sample of written work will be requested. MS Office skills are necessary; familiarity with MS Project is desired.
