As our client’s School Psychologist, you will call upon your education, experience and knowledge of community resources for mental health needs in providing direct therapy and consultation services to individuals, groups and/or families throughout an assigned set of schools located within a 5,000 square-mile location. Commencing at the Educational Development Center, you will facilitate behavioral and crises intervention and administer appropriate psycho-educational assessments and timely psycho-educational evaluations and placement on a daily basis. Additionally, you will provide technical assistance to the school and district staff in meeting the needs of Special Education students. This is a full-time position that runs concurrently with the school’s schedule, with a break in the winter, spring and summertime.
To qualify, you must hold a Bachelor’s degree (earned from a regionally accredited college or university) and a Master’s degree, OR an Educational Specialist degree and a minimum of 60 graduate hours in a School Psychology program, including a practicum in a school setting. Alternatively, you may possess a Doctoral degree in Psychology (earned from a regionally accredited college/university) that includes twelve (12) semester hours of child-focused course work in development, assessment and intervention plus 600 hours of supervised experience in a school-related setting. Finally, you may possess a psychologist or psychologist associate license issued by the NM Board of Psychologist Examiners that includes twelve (12) semester hours of child-focused course work in development, assessment, and intervention plus 600 hours of supervised experience in a school-related setting, and have successfully passed the National Teacher Examination (NTE) specialty area in School Psychology, or possess a certificate issued by the National Association of School Psychologists (NCSP).
Our client provides a competitive compensation and benefits package, and a stimulating environment in which to practice. What’s more, a district vehicle will be provided. The area, for those who are unfamiliar, offers great outdoor living, with plenty of hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
