Experienced Technical Support Engineer Cincinnati, Ohio
In this essential role, you will serve as onsite technical support for a major customer, as well as for the entirety of Minerva’s customers. You will champion the support of all technical support issues for Minerva Networks products and the integration of those products within the customer’s environment. You will strive to proactively identify opportunities for improvement in all processes, communication, and documentation. Since this is a 24/7/365 responsibility that includes nights, weekends and holidays, you will need to share on-call availability with the rest of the North American support team.
To qualify, you should have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, and experience working with Linux operating systems, including support products that run on Linux and roles as a Linux Administrator. Your networking experience will embody many different capabilities, and have served as a stepping stone to a product support/customer support position. Your strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and a great ability to quickly learn a broad array of technologies and apply that knowledge to real-world problems will contribute significantly to your success. Your proven track record of positive customer interaction, and demonstrated diplomacy and tact in handling difficult or sensitive situations will also make you a winning contender for this position. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Five to seven years of experience in field services or technical support and knowledge of at least one of the following would be ideal: • web-based client/server applications, especially WebLogic, Web Services and Apache • experience supporting iOS and Android Apps • IP networking, routing configuration and protocols • Oracle or Microsoft SQL RDBMS.
