ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Rent-A-Center is one of the largest rent-to-own operators in the United States operating approximately 3,000+ company-owned retail stores nationwide, Mexico and Puerto Rico. RAC stores offer high quality durable goods such as major name brand consumer electronics, appliances, computers, and furniture and accessories under flexible rental purchase agreements that allow customers to obtain ownership of the merchandise at the conclusion of an agreed-upon rental period.
Impact Properties has entered into a master franchise agreement to own and operate over 40 existing corporate retail locations from RAC along with the opportunity for additional future store growth. These locations are spread across the Southeastern US in the states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, and Mississippi.
Job Description
As a key member heading the accounting department, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading the general accounting function that supports the front end business operation. This position will interact with all departments within the organization. These tasks will include the following:
Essential Job Functions
Daily
- Verify deposits (cash/credit) for all stores in all regions
- Daily reconciliation of transactions in Hightouch
- Process inventory invoices in HighTouch and Quickbooks
- Update all downloaded transactions to properly class and account for all banks
- Manage and troubleshoot A/P vendor payable issues
- Liaison to Regional Managers, Store Managers and Vendors as required

Weekly
- Import all daily bank deposit transaction into Quickbooks and properly classify as needed
- Payroll Journal entries upload to Quickbooks
- Process regular vendor invoices
- Create and submit payables report for the weekly check run for management approval
- Process the weekly check run as guided
- Setup new vendors in Quickooks as needed
- Submit week end report detailing any open items/invoices not resolved to management

Monthly
- Process Sales Tax Analysis reports in Hightouch to prepare monthly Sales Tax filing
- File sales tax on-line for stores in every state
- Process Hightouch Month End Closing for all operating regions
- Process month end adjustments as needed for the CPA

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- 3+ years of experience at an accounting firm specifically with retail clients or conversely supporting a multi-unit franchise operation in the retail/restaurant industry
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and data analytics tools
- Comprehensive knowledge of Quickbooks
- Familiarity with High Touch Point of Sale system preferred but not required
- Rent to Own retail experience a plus
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work seamlessly as part of a team or independently
