Assistant Plant Manager
Atlanta, Georgia

In this essential role, you will lead and implement maintenance, quality control and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant. You will participate on and/or lead process Best Practices teams to ensure horizontal expansion of best practices. Your technical services, process capability analysis, and process standards will support manufacturing operations in meeting customer requirements at all times. Importantly, you should be prepared to promote to the role of Plant Manager, since the existing incumbent will be moving into a new position with 12 to 18 months.

A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred), along with seven to ten years of professional experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or continuous improvement organization is required. The best candidate will have, ideally, managed a slitting, extruding and/or printing department in a large facility. A solid technical and business background that emphasizes business processes and process improvement will support a demonstrated ability to problem solve technical and process issues across a variety of business processes. Proven ability to achieve results through teams, and perform effectively in a diverse workgroup will be key to success in this position. A talent for generating new ideas, along with exceptional analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, is sought. Finally, proficiency with Microsoft Office/IBM Notes with an aptitude for learning additional computer programs will also be necessary. This position is designed to lead into the Atlanta Plant Manager role within 18 months, as the current plant manager moves into a Corporate role.
