Our client is a convenience store and travel center enterprise with a 50-year success record. Founded by a single visionary, our client pioneered the unique concept of self-serve gasoline and groceries at one, inclusive stop. In doing so, they forged the way to fresh deli sandwiches, quick-service restaurants and gift and novelty items, too. Our client continues to search for new ways to serve drivers through innovations such as Truck Tire Care centers with roadside assistance service, and having drivers paid for their freight bills through a freight-factoring group. Last year, the organization opened 20 to 25 stores, and plan for the opening of 40 to 42 this year. Forty-seven new openings are scheduled for 2016. Such phenomenal growth has created a need for the following leadership position:
District Manager Dallas/Houston, Texas As our client’s new District Manager, you will travel from store to store (8 to 10 locations) Monday through Thursday, championing P&L statements, developing schedules, grooming and mentoring managers and employees and participating in hiring decisions. Your first 3 to 8 months will be completely hands on, as you run an assigned location, thoroughly learning the logistics of operating a retail store. Within a year and a half, you will then assume the District Manager role, with the option of advancing upwards or laterally from there. You will also enjoy the freedom of relocating to any point in the country. To qualify, you should hold a two- or four-year degree (preferred) and possess two years’ experience in each of the following areas: retail/restaurant/convenience-travel stop management; oversight of an annual sales volume of $2+ million, budget and P&L development/maintenance, and the supervision of 5 to 10 employees. A valid driver’s license is necessary. Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel is expected.
