Seeking Customer-Centric Bus Operators. Apply today!

Our client is an integrated regional transportation system and the top transportation agency within the national capital area, providing fast and efficient bus and train travel. The only state/local agency of its kind, our client began building its rail system in 1969, acquired four regional bus systems in 1973, and began operating the first phase in 1976. Today, the system serves 91 stations and has 117 miles of track, and offers bus services for the nation's capital 24 hours a day, seven days a week with 1,500 buses. Combined, this transportation system serves a population of approximately 4 million within a 1,500-square mile jurisdiction. The year 1994 launched a new paratransit service, which provides about 2.3 million trips per year.

Bus Operators
Washington, D.C., Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania
As a professional Bus Operator you will champion the safe and timely transport of the general population along a particular route each day. You’ll first participate in a full training regime for nine weeks before being released onto the roadways as a validated Bus Operator. Training will take place in a Landover, Maryland, facility, Monday through Friday, with both early morning and early evening schedules available. Candidates must be present for the entire training to qualify for an Operator position. Good customer service skills will catapult your success in this role, which can lead to other opportunities, including rail and train operators and, eventually, the role of station manager.
To qualify, you should hold a high school diploma or GED and possess three years of work experience, or three years of combined schooling and work, along with a good driving history. A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Bus and Air Brake endorsement will make you a most attractive candidate; however, a CDL Learner’s Permit at the time of application is completely acceptable. You must be at least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
Our client offers competitive compensation and full benefits (after completion of training) that include medical and dental coverages, tuition reimbursement, and free transportation on the system. You’ll work in an environment of unionization, and one that celebrates a wealth of diversity. Finally, you’ll always have access to new opportunities and mobility throughout the agency.
Get ready to go places in your career! Send your resume and letter of interest, for immediate consideration. Be sure to specify “Bus Operators – 37320” in the subject line.
Our Client is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
