This is an exciting opportunity to work in our new, state-of-the-art plasma lab—one of the largest of its kind in the nation. The plasma facility features a versatile space simulation vacuum chamber that can be used to investigate a wide range of plasma phenomena that arise in ionospheric, space or hypersonic environments. Within our sophisticated lab setting, you will gain valuable insight by conducting experiments that have been scaled in such a way that a specific topic of interest can be studied under controlled conditions, allowing you to benchmark results from theory and simulation. By deploying such innovation, you will obtain an understanding of electromagnetic wave scattering processes in plasma, such as the ionosphere, or in the plasma that forms around hypersonic vehicles.

To qualify, you should hold a Master’s degree (a Ph.D. is preferred) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field of study, and possess three or more years of relevant experience. (Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and the appropriate experience will be considered, as well.) Importantly, you must be able to qualify for, and obtain, DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Riverside Research provides a competitive compensation program, which includes annual performance and salary reviews, and the gamut of employee benefits, including comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage, a flexible spending plan, short- and long-term disability and life insurance, a long-term care plan, a 403(b) retirement plan, a non-contributory retirement plan, paid vacation and sick leave, tuition reimbursement, and more. Most importantly, your development will be constantly challenged and enhanced by a broad variety of assignments and personalized attention from Riverside Research senior managers.

Join the experts in cutting-edge engineering and research disciplines! Send your resume for immediate consideration. Please be sure to specify “Computational Plasma Physicists – 37357” in the subject line.
