Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit
Jourdanton, Texas

Essentially, you will ensure that all patients receive the required, quality care in compliance with the approved policies of the hospital and other regulatory agencies. Relying on your five-plus years of experience and judgment, you will champion the overall nursing care and plan and accomplish appropriate goals. You will coordinate the activities of the unit, and direct, organize and assign work to the associated nursing staff. You’ll be expected to assess, monitor, and educate the nursing staff on patient care, and institute emergency procedures as necessary. Your tasks will vary, depending on the unit you are assigned to, or according to the particular needs of your assigned shift. You should expect to float to the Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit when census is low in ICU.

To qualify, you should hold certification as a Registered Nurse and possess an Associate’s degree from an accredited school of nursing. You’ll also need BLS and ACLS certification, along with previous ICU RN experience. It is imperative that you perform well in emergency and critical situations, and that you possess strong competencies in all facets of nursing. A certain amount of creativity and latitude will contribute to a harmonious and well-managed team.
