Under the direct supervision of the Shop or Service Manager, you will perform periodic maintenance, repair, replacement and limited troubleshooting on various models of Hyster and competitive materials handling equipment. You will need to be able to complete all related paperwork associated with all repair job requirements. You’ll also be expected to assist in the training/mentoring of apprentice mechanics.

To qualify, you must have at least three years of experience as a technician in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of most makes of equipment, and be able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics. You should be able to repair or replace major system components, including circuit boards and other electrical parts, i.e., hydraulic, mechanical, L.P. systems, power steering and transmissions, engines, etc. with limited supervision. You must be able to perform your duties in a manner that respects safety procedures as well as company policies, and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills. Since driving is an essential function of this position, you’ll need to maintain a valid driver’s license at all times.
