Strategic Commodity Manager Troy, Michigan As a Strategic Commodity professional, you will work in partnership with both North American and international suppliers, and leverage your knowledge of cost breakdown, volume, industry trends and effective practices/processes as you manage our client’s supply base strategy. You’ll lead Strategic Commodity Buyers in assigned commodities, and work with Operational Purchasing in support of assigned commodity teams. Additionally, you’ll assist in the development and implementation of commodity strategy in assigned commodities. To qualify, you should hold a Bachelor’s degree—a Master’s is preferred—and possess five or more years of specific automotive purchasing experience. You must either carry a recognized purchasing certification, with CPM or APP being preferred, or be in the process of obtaining certification. Your background will demonstrate both strategic and technical prowess, and an ability to deliver results, influence others and gain alignment on direction. You’ll bring excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills to the table, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
