Our client is a second-generation, family-owned company that has been innovating fiber solutions for home, work and leisure for over a quarter of a century. Sofas, mattresses and comforters feature their sewing thread products, while fine embroidery threads decorate a favorite shirt or hat. Exclusive candlewick fibers illuminate homes, restaurants and bars; cable and fiber-optic yarns help deliver electricity, Internet and phone service; and specialty filtration products serve a critical function in helping to clean and protect the environment. Finally, their high-temperature materials in furnaces keep us warm. These are exciting times, as our client is experiencing rapid growth. Such growth has resulted in a brand-new plant, which requires the following professional:

Facilities Manager
Smithsburg, Maryland
As Facilities Manager, you will spearhead all functions having to do with the facility, including housekeeping. You will negotiate contracts for work to be performed, oversee landscaping and snow removal, bid projects, and provide yearly maintenance on production equipment. You will assist in the Production area and, acting as Safety Manager, ensure environmental compliance. Some hands-on duties will be required; you will perform minor repairs, do painting, set up break rooms and install certain items, and help perform weekend inspections.

To qualify, you should have five to ten years’ experience as a Facilities Manager within a small manufacturing environment, where you will have also spearheaded safety issues and practices. A high level of professionalism is expected, including an ability to respect confidentiality. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel) is required. Finally, a college degree or some type of professional certification is preferred.
