Safety Manager De Soto, Kansas As Safety Manager, you will champion all aspects of Safety from procedures and policies, to safe working behaviors. You’ll forge various onsite Safety Awareness activities to assure that all health, safety, OSHA and housekeeping guidelines are followed, and that compliance with all safety updates, certifications and training (OSHA, DEP, etc.) is consistently met. You will also order and maintain personal protective equipment, first aid and safety supplies, and cover daily and monthly safety topics with plant employees. Importantly, you will facilitate Plant Safety Committee Meetings and participate in monthly Safety Coordinator conference calls. To qualify, you should possess two-plus years of safety leadership experience or hold a job-related degree (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred). Familiarity with industrial safety, OSHA, and industrial hygiene, along with knowledge of regulations, implementations, inspections and investigations is required. Experience within a manufacturing or production-based environment is a plus. Five Sigma and Lean Manufacturing expertise is preferred, but not necessary. Knowledge of generalized warehouse industries is preferable, as is forklift certification and proficiency.
