Our Client Company is in the Aerospace industry, supplying both the commercial and military sectors of the Aerospace market with components, as well as aftermarket products and services. Relocation assistance is available. This position can evolve into a production supervisor 2nd shift role for the right individual.
The Lead Plater participates in the process of installing, starting up and, eventually, performing numerous surface-finishing operations. This individual processes parts using Gritblast (surface preparation), masks parts (tapes, lacquers, and wax), cleans surfaces. He or she employs hard chrome, cadmium-titanium, sulfamate nickel, and brush plating throughout the plating processes, and also cleans, bakes and stripes plating (post plating). The Lead Plater also installs conforming plating anodes on parts and measures surfaces before and after plating, using dial gauges, O.D micro-meters, and magnetic induction thickness measurement instruments. This individual evaluates plating problems and recommends solutions, and works with process specialists and the foreman to continuously improve processes that will optimize production times and quality. This role also trains other operators.
Requirements: (Note: Only candidates with the following qualifications will be considered.)
Five-plus years of electroplating experience with large gear Aerospace (preferred), automotive or heavy industrial background Experience with processes (chrome, nickel, cadmium) and preparatory processes (desired) Knowledge of masking and lead tape application Experience using conforming anodes in plating processes Experience training others (preferred) Ability and willingness to work the 2nd shift (12PM to 10AM)
