The Sr. Design Engineer takes responsibility for the engineering of all products and/or systems requiring design and redesign. Working with minimal supervision, this individual tests products that have been designed in accordance with time schedules, quality parameters, customer and market needs, and manufacturing capabilities. He or she employs a thorough knowledge of embedded software development tools and techniques, hardware development, systems analysis and concepts, and the product development process to accomplish this positions objectives. Additionally, extensive experience in the evaluation and approval of product technical specifications, and general compliance/conformance to industry and company standards, practices, and procedures support the Sr. Design Engineers success in this role.
Requirements: (Note: Only candidates with the following qualifications will be considered.)
BSEE (MSEE desired) from a fully accredited institution Five+ years of experience in the design of electronic devices using implemented embedded applications Detailed working knowledge of embedded systems and code development: ANSI C and Visual Studio Working knowledge of typical hardware design tools (OrCAD a plus!) Experience with Freescale Micros Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as UL, CE, and FCC Familiarity with ISO 9000 Quality Systems Experience programming with Visual Basic 5.0 or higher, including familiarity with Windows API Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience interfacing with, and supporting, customers Ability to select, motivate and lead a group of diverse technical professionals to implement the vision of the company Ability to travel (minimally) as needed
