Health Information Manager Escondido, CA, and Surrounding Communities In this leadership role, you will assume oversight of the Patient Services Team (Medical Records and Patient Services), directing day-to-day operations, supervising staff, monitoring compliance (HIPAA and CMS) regulation initiatives, and spearheading hiring and other personnel-related decisions. Additionally, you will collaborate with physicians, medical services, and hospice teams to ensure coding is within the established standards, and lead the implementation of ICD-10 coding for the agency. You’ll preside over Clinical Support Team audits and work with interdepartmental managers to develop, implement and execute plans for process improvements, in addition to carrying out other essential responsibilities. To qualify, you should hold a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or an Associate (minimum) and possess two to three years of experience with hospice, home health or other health-related field. At least two years of supervisory experience is required, with Medical Records management experience preferred. Medical Records coding or coding supervisory experience with a Coding credential, CCS, CCS-P or CPC is also necessary. Medical Records RHIA or RHIT certification is expected. We’ll look for proven leadership and customer-service skills, along with outstanding verbal and written communication skills. You should also possess demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs. A current CA driver’s license and proof of insurance are necessary.
