Right now, we’re hiring for a Lead Software Engineer in Springville, Utah. This position is responsible for directing the overall technical vision of our software development environment.

• Lead and mentor a team of cross-functional software developers.
• Work together with development team to plan and execute projects, ensure that team members have appropriate business and technology knowledge, specifications, direction, and resources to deliver applications timely, accurately and aligned with customer requirements.
• Work within a structured Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process to manage the team in the specification, design, development, testing and support of software; provide technical guidance and direction for less experienced team members when necessary.
• Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other SCRUM-related meetings.
• Track and report the status of projects, act as a gateway through which work is accurately defined, assigned and executed.
• Evolve software development tools and architecture to better utilize technical advancements, improve software performance and efficiently achieve departmental requirements.
• Help developers resolve technical problems, adhere to standards and system architecture; ensure resources are utilized to optimum levels; monitor individual developers performance and report to the Software Development Manager.
• Ensure the development team is practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability and visibility.
• Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.
• Challenge your peers to attain established goals and inspire their pursuit of excellence.
• Acknowledge and appreciate each team member’s contribution.

Before we welcome you onboard, here’s how we’ll know you have what it takes:

• You have a bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent; you have at least eight years of experience in system analysis, software development or engineering; plus two years of leading a development team of at least five developers. In addition, you must also have at least five years of technical product development experience building distributed enterprise applications.
• You have excellent communication, leadership and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with all levels of management.
• You have solid knowledge and experience with one or more development methodologies (Agile/SCRUM), change control, problem management processes and developing engineering processes.
• You have excellent technical skills and knowledge coupled with strong leadership, planning and management abilities.
• You are proficient in Java, Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, HTML, SQL, CSS, JavaScript/Jquery, Jquery Mobile/UI, Bootstrap, Bourne/C Shell.
• You have working knowledge of Windows, Linux/Unix, SUSE and shell/batch scripting.
• You have proven experience with enterprise data architecture and data modeling; and database performance tuning related to application development.
• You have working knowledge of data warehousing technologies, design and methodologies; flat/relational database structure.
• You have experience providing technical direction and architectural guidance for enterprise-wide software solutions.
• You are proactive and results-oriented with a positive attitude.
• You have strong team-building skills and the ability to gain cooperation and motivate others.
