Right now, we’re hiring for a Director of Quality in Valencia, CA. This position is responsible for the quality of all FLP Divisions, FAA PMA products, OEM products, repair station and other manufacturing.

If you’re ready to power the future of the aerospace market with us, we’d ask you to do the following:

• Direct the efforts of auditors, inspectors, technicians, planners, and analysts to achieve a consistent level of product quality that satisfies customer requirements.
• Oversee the company quality system, quality manual and quality procedures. Coordinate with the ISO organization to ensure FLP's continued good standing and certification to AS 9100, CASE, CFR Part 21, 145 and EASA 21G, 145 and other quality standards.
• Oversee the quality discrepancy notification and corrective action system and assure any deviation or omission from FAA, EASA or customer approved documentation is addressed in a timely manner.
• Monitor and report failure, malfunctions and defects in accordance with the FAA/EASA regulations.
• Supervise supplier management process and overall supplier quality.
• Direct the Quality Manager in evaluating and coordinating the activities of Quality Engineering and oversight of outside vendors.
• Oversee the proper development and use of departmental resources and personnel. Ensure their compliance to company policies and standards.
• Prepare and achieve department goals and objectives. Seek out ways to improve quality, reduce costs and increase productivity. Measure and reduce total cost of quality.
• Develop and maintain corrective and preventative actions through the Executive Improvement Team (EIT).
• Provide customer interface regarding on-site customer audits, problem resolution and continuous improvement activities.
• Monitor and report monthly performance results for quality-related matters.
• Prepare and manage the department annual budget.

• You have a bachelor’s degree with 10 years of related aerospace experience and a proven track record of managing people and building effective teams.
• You are familiar with working in a diversified distribution and manufacturing environment.
• You have the ability to mentor future managers.
• You enjoy getting your hands dirty and diving into complex quality challenges.
• You have experience in the manufacturing of precision aircraft parts.
• You are skilled in reading complex mechanical drawings and in the practical application of geometric dimensional and tolerancing.
• You understand the development of performance metrics by use of various computer skills and software applications including Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, or related programs.
