Director, Sales Engineering Chelmsford, Massachusetts As Director, Sales Engineering, you will function as a key member of the North America Sales Team with varied, concurrent responsibilities that range from motivating a team of sales engineers, to actively engaging key customer accounts, to managing projects, including pre-sales activities and RFI/RFP responses. You will also forge strong relationships with Regional Sales Managers and Sales Executives in order to assist in the closing of new business. To qualify for this highly visible position, you should hold a BS or BA degree (or the equivalent in work experience), and possess a minimum of ten years’ experience within the Telecommunications industry. You’ll also need a minimum of five years of managing teams of at least six people within a sales engineer organization. A keen understanding of complex networking technologies during the early stage of the sales process, along with demonstrated, comprehensive knowledge of Optical Networking, Metro Ethernet, and Wave Division Multiplexing technologies is imperative. Success in this role requires impressive professional and interpersonal skills pertaining to customer relationship building with respect to sales of new and existing technologies that solve customers’ current and future business needs. Our background should include experience with Oracle OM and Contracts Modules. Proficiency in Excel environments a must. Strong customer interfacing skills are essential for success in this role. Finally, you must be detail oriented and able to work against stringent deadlines, and be self-motivated with an independent work ethic.
