Fleet Maintenance Manager Trainee

This fantastic on-the-job training opportunity will develop you into a full-fledged Maintenance Manager who will oversee a facility-maintenance program. Your goal will be to run the program in an efficient, safe, and proper manner by providing strong leadership while coordinating and directing the activities of all employees tasked with servicing and repairing equipment and vehicles. It will be necessary to establish open communication and work closely with operations in order to ensure the delivery of safe, working equipment. You will also be expected to assist the Fleet Director with acquisitions and other special projects as assigned. To qualify, you should hold a high school diploma or GED (an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred), and come from a mechanical background that includes some supervisory/leadership experience. Waste management industry experience would be ideal, but is not an absolute. What’s important is that you have a sharp, positive, “get-the-work-done” attitude. You should be DOT certified for air brake inspection and adjustment, and also hold certification for Annual Vehicle Inspection. Possession of a Class B Certified Driver’s License (CDL), or a willingness to obtain same within 6 months of hire, is desired. You must be comfortable with 100% travel and able to relocate. Recent college grads with the right skills and aptitudes will be considered.
