Is your child a budding photographer? Does he or she have an interest in learning more about photography? BASH is hosting a field trip where you will get instruction and a chance to hone your photography skills.
Michael Christman of Dark Horse Photography will conduct the class. He is a professional artist and photographer in the San Antonio area.
When: June 13, 2014. 10:00 am
Where: Medina River Natural Area, meeting at the Pavilion.
Requirements - This class is for Middle School and high school aged children. The instruction will be too advanced for the younger kids. However, the area is gorgeous so feel free to bring younger siblings to play and explore while their older siblings are learning.
All kids must bring a digital camera. It is HIGHLY PREFERRED that they have (or can borrow) a DSLR camera. If you do not have one, there will be two available that can be shared.
The class is limited to 15 kids
(Bringing a water bottle, sunscreen and bug spray is recommended)
Cost: FREE but there is a $5 per participating child REFUNDABLE deposit. If you show up, your deposit is refunded. Payment is due no later than June 6, 2014. The first 15 payments will secure your spot and be accepted on a first come, first served basis. A waiting list will be kept for those who do not get in on time. No refunds will be issued after June 6th. Contact for payment details.
Duration: 1-2 hours
What will be covered: Basic DSLR Operation, shooting in manual mode, basic composition, and what to look for in a beginner DSLR.
Kids will have the opportunity to practice the skills they learned by shooting some of the beautiful scenery around the park.
We will feature the children's photography on the BASH website when they are done.
