Director of Materials York, Pennsylvania
As Director or Materials, you will ensure the accuracy, safekeeping and timely movement of inventory throughout the site. This is accomplished through the development of lean processes and procedures that meet internal and external customer requirements combined with the effective leadership of Inventory Control resources. Importantly, you will maintain collaborative relationships with Functional Leaders to assure Inventory Control supports departmental needs and, collectively, that our client meets external customer demands. To qualify, you must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 9 years of materials/inventory control in a fast-paced environment. At least 5 of those years should contain interpretation/analysis and logistics experience. Proven leadership abilities gleaned from a minimum of 7 years’ experience with 5 years dedicated to managing supervisory personnel will also be expected. You must be a highly skilled inventory-control leader with extensive strategic and tactical experience. Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal skills are key since this is a role involving frequent interaction with customers. Lastly, you should be an expert-level user of MS Excel and possess a working knowledge and understanding of MRP/ERP systems, WIP & Planning and Visio. Experience with Microsoft Great Plains is also required.
