***Please send your resume to .*** JOB TITLE: HOSTESS Primary Goal: The Host or Hostess's basic function is to welcome, greet and seat guests in a gracious, accommodating, and professional manner, ensuring 100% guest satisfaction. The level of service must be consistent with established "Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group" standards in every respect described in the Service Handbook, Front Door Staff Handbook and the Employee Manual. The position also requires the employee to provide guests with accurate information regarding the restaurant and its operations. The essential hospitality standards must be used at all times: enthusiastically recognize guest per the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group standards, eye contact, smile, speak first, engage in polite conversation, and use the guest's last name. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. (Please note management reserves the right to change, modify, and/or alter any of the duties listed above to meet business demands). JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. The ability to follow proper payroll and uniform procedures. 2. The ability to set up the host/hostess stand, review the reservation book and make recommendations as to the set up of the room. 3. The ability to open the restaurant for business at the prescribed time each shift. 4. The ability to inspect the cleanliness of each section of the dining room and the private dining rooms and make necessary improvements as well as check each table prior to opening to ensure its proper set. 5. The ability to pick up the daily menus and insert them properly in their covers. 6. The ability to inspect every menu and list to ensure proper condition and appearance. 7. The ability to develop a complete working knowledge of the menus, menu ingredients and what is unavailable for the day. 8. The ability to assign seating taking into account service standards, staffing levels and kitchen capacity. 9. The ability to know the server stations, their daily assignments, their personal timing patterns and their maximum workload capacity. 10. The ability to maintain a station chart and cover count for the restaurant. 11. The ability to ensure you conform to the standards of service and personally ensure each guest receives the highest quality of service. 12. The ability to greet each guest promptly, courteously, graciously with eye contact, a smile and good posture. 13. The ability to handle guests without reservations or those waiting for others to join them. 14. The ability to handle lost and found items. 15. The ability to seat reservations promptly at a table pre-set for the number in the party. 16. The ability to hold chairs for guests as often as possible when seating them. 17. The ability to check guest's coats, packages or luggage when necessary. 18. The ability to address guests by name whenever possible. 19. The ability to address guest dissatisfaction immediately and inform the manager of the action taken. 20. The ability to answer telephones according to Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group and Regent Beverly Wilshire standards, take reservations and provide information regarding the restaurant or any other hotel service. 21. The ability to anticipate the needs of guests while scanning the room constantly. 22. The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation. 23. Neat and legible hand writing 24.
