You'll meet some of our Patients and Providers, and get a glimpse of our facilities: Alliance Medical Center is currently seeking a Temporary, Bilingual Full Time Medical Assistant (MA) for our Windsor, CA location. There may be an opportunity to convert to Full Time, Regular. What you will do at AMC: The MA provides direct and indirect support to AMC Provider in the delivery of patient care. Prepares exam room and Patient to be seen by the AMC Provider and performs/implements orders for diagnostic tests. Completes documentation and enters/associates orders into the electronic health record according to protocols and as instructed by the supervising Provider/RN. Administers medications and immunizations (with the exception of anesthetic agents and any medication via the IV route). Arranges outside referral appointments and provides patient education. Consults frequently with the supervising Provider/RN. Other responsibilities may include: - Prepares the treatment room for examination of the Patient and positions instruments and equipment appropriately - Measures Patient's vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height, pain scale, oxygen saturation) and records information in the electronic health record - Assists in keeping exam rooms clean and stocked with supplies - Cleans and sterilizes instruments - Assists with maintaining inventory of medical supplies and materials - Gives treatments such as injections, EKG, breathing treatments, vision and audiometry exams, and performs routine laboratory tests such as pregnancy, strep, Hgb, Urinalysis, and phlebotomy (certified by Provider) - Follows Alliance Medical Center standards for Universal Precautions when working with potentially infectious materials (blood or body fluids) - Documents in the electronic health record the administration of all medication(s) and immunizations, as well as any procedures/labs performed - Cleans exam rooms each day, disinfecting where appropriate; checks exam room after each patient and restores to order for the next patient - Works with the care team to complete Care Team Weekly Duties as assigned - Makes referrals to outside specialists/facilities for patients as ordered by the care team Provider - Assures efficient patient flow by ongoing assessment of Provider's schedule and working with other staff to minimize patient waiting time - Actively participates in the development/maintenance of the Alliance Care Team Model The MA at Alliance Medical Center must have the following qualifications and skills: - H.S. diploma and current Medical Assistant certification - 1 Year Medical Assistance experience in a healthcare facility - Bilingual in Spanish / English - Punctual and reliable: work hours Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. - Ability to write routine reports and correspondence using electronic health record, EPIC experience a plus Why AMC?
