Role(s) you are interested in 3. Tell us about your talents / passions / interests / previous experience 4. Availability - amount of time per week you're able / willing 5. Equipment - do you have your own equipment or will you need to use ours? if you have your own equipment what is it? Compensation: This is currently a low to no budget guerilla film. All positions (including our positions) are on a volunteer basis. You will be credited on the film for work provided, learning and practicing valuable skills, and documenting a pertinent socio-economic issue. ABOUT THE PROJECT We have begun following the grassroots Raise the Wage Davis campaign, a local effort to get the minimum wage in Davis, CA increased to $15 / hour by 2015. We are documenting their efforts as they organize and grow, pushing to get their initiative on the November 2014 ballot. We will be exploring the minimum wage debate, but more importantly we will be focusing on the subject matter of the citizens who are working together to change their world. Aside from following this group we will also be conducting interviews with various members of the community at large including workers, business owners, scholars, etc. We are seeking people with all levels of experience, so if you think you don't know enough but are willing to learn we would love to have you aboard. All positions are open to everyone of legal age regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, religion, disability, etc. We know that asking for volunteers is asking people for a commitment of their time, effort, and energy and we are grateful for any help you can give us. Our goal is to reward your volunteer commitments with a positive and collaborative working environment that we hope will provide an enjoyable artistic and community experience. WE ARE SEEKING VOLUNTEERS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: Camera Operators -- we are shooting w/ DSLR equipment; we have several cameras, we would love to have access to several more; ideally you have your own camera you are comfortable with (if possible, if not that's ok) but we are happy to train you on the equipment we have. We will be shooting a variety of events out in the field as well as sit-down interviews. Audio Operators -- need a sound wizard to help us with technical & equipment issues as well as field work. Good sound is a critical need and we want someone who knows their way around the field of sound and can train others to use equipment as needed. Production Assistants -- looking for individuals who enjoy communications and organization. Helping to coordinate a variety of areas including setting up interviews, organizing schedules and personnel for field work demands, and keeping directors from freaking out from work overload. Upbeat, outgoing personalities are encouraged. Research -- do you like to find information? We need to find a mountain of it. Historical information, polling data, current events, finding stock footage, etc. Even if you can only give an hour or two a week... we need as much help as we can get. If your purpose in life is to find all the needles in all the haystacks, this project is your reason for living.
