We are seeking a part time mechanic able to perform quality, high volume work servicing customer bikes and refurbishing used/donated bikes for sale. Reply with cover letter and resume to Position Title: Mechanic II Reports To: Operations Manager, Service Manager Responsibility Statement The Mechanic supports the technical function of both commercial service and program bike preparation. Essential Functions Daily Shop Operations and Bicycle Repair Repair, check, and fix bikes to prepare for program distribution, sale or commercial service. Prepare bikes on time using the highest quality of workmanship. Follow work order and document repairs. Ensure completion and quality of work done; ensure that all phone calls, requests, and questions are addressed properly and in a timely manner. Along with other staff, ensure the Depot is maintained in a clean and safe manner at all times. Assist inventory management as needed. Work with Service Manager to develop and implement organization plan Ensure floor bikes are clean, maintained, and ready for sale Assist with the sale of both new and used bicycles, including use of POS system. Assist Service Manager and other staff in management of volunteers. Other projects as needed Experience/Education Thorough knowledge of bike types, accessories, tools, etc. Experience working on all types, quality and vintage of bikes required. Minimum of one year working as or with volunteers helpful. Experience teaching mechanic skills helpful. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Basic understanding of working with volunteers and the public Demonstrated organizational skills Solid oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated accounting/ inventory control experience helpful.
