Accounting/Benefits Assistant Job Functions -- Provide payroll, benefits and backup office support for a busy staffing office. Assist in payroll process. Tracking and sorting hours and time cards of offsite employees. Data entry in ADP, Excel and Access . Generate, balance and distribute reports. Navigate ADP to enter direct deposit, tax and payroll information. Payroll distribution. Assist in accounts payable and receivable. Create, print, email and mail invoices from QuickBooks. Check distribution. Occasional collection calls. Coordinate benefits. Inform new hires, in person and via email, of insurance options and current employees of insurance changes. Track insurance enrollments and terminations from each plan offered. Prepare COBRA paperwork for terminated employees and complete COBRA enrollments. Assist in hire and termination procedures. Track and verify all start up paperwork. Monitor filing and system changes for starts and terminations. Assist in background check process. Respond to and monitor unemployment claims, wage information requests, child support and mandated insurance inquiries. Respond to employment verification requests. Complete general administrative tasks. Customer service via telephone and email. Answer incoming phones. Office scanning and faxing. Print, sort and distribute incoming faxes. Write letters. Track and distribute sales contest data. Send and compile company survey data. Requirements: At least 2 years of experience in an office environment. Attention to detail. Ability to multitask.
