To apply, email your resume to: Blue Barn Marin is seeking a motivated self-starter with outgoing personality to fill the role of cashier/counter server. At our small, but very busy, lunch/dinner eatery we embrace the philosophy of "slow food" in a quick-service environment, with a major emphasis on locally and sustainably grown food. This integral position of Server / Ambassador is not only tasked with efficient multitasking during fast-paced rushes, but also with educating our customers about our thoughtful gourmet offerings and, most importantly imparting warmth and hospitality through friendly customer service. The ideal candidate will be a top hospitality leader while managing all daily operations "inclusive but not limited to" the following: Be an integral part of smooth front-of-house operation during fast-paced lunch/dinner rushes Lead by example by providing warm, professional hospitality at all times Actively engage with each and every customer, creating an environment where customers feel both welcomed and at home Initiate side work responsibilities with other staff, inclusive of ensuring attractive appearance of the dining room Maintain organization and general inventory of supplies in storage room and other storage areas Requirements: Overall, this physically active and dynamic position requires a positive, high-energy, "can-do" attitude with the ability to be a leader on the restaurant floor and set a positive example for other employees on best-practices. This involves, at the very minimum, someone who can: strike up friendly conversation with anyone multi-task and keep cool throughout stressful moments anticipate and initiate tasks - when something is broken, they find a way to fix it think on their feet and problem solve work in a team-oriented environment To Apply: Please submit your resume and a brief note describing your interest and background in the food service industry with two professional references. Our ingredients are thoughtfully sourced, chosen from conscientious farmers, ranchers and artisan's, locally and organically whenever possible. The mindfulness of our offerings is inspired by the seasonal produce we receive from our sister farm, Oak Hill Farm in Sonoma, where our owner, Sam Josi's, step-grandmother has been sustainably and seasonally farming for five decades. We are opening as a Marin Organic Supporting Business as well. There are a total of 3 Blue Barn Gourmets in the San Francisco Bay Area at this time and our company is still growing.
