We are accepting applications for Full-Time Floor Supervisor positions at our Polk Store location. JOB FUNCTIONS: - Ensure adherence to good cash handling policies including change making, monitoring cashier procedures and drawer count outs, occasionally processing deposits and DSRs - Assist in the development and implementation of cashiering procedures that ensure both the accurate capture of sales and positive sales growth - Provide Customer Service including processing returns and dealing with complaints or other problems - Act as Shift Leader when scheduled, facilitating the smooth operation of the sales floor by covering breaks, assigning work and otherwise directing the activities of the staff - Assist in generating, hanging, or maintaining signage - Work with store and department managers to maintain and develop displays - Assist in re-sets - Stay abreast of products and industry trends. Maintain a good working knowledge of current products in all departments. Take special orders and pass long to appropriate buyer - Act as Fill-in/Substitute for buyers as needed - Train, retrain and coach staff. Work with Store Manager and Administration to develop and refine training programs as needed. - Enforce company policies and participate in the disciplinary process - Work to promote enthusiasm and teamwork among staff. - Participate in the review process - Assist store manager with in-store implementation of necessary HR record keeping and procedures, including dissemination of information, writing incident reports, and proper handling of employee complaints or grievances. - Assist store manager in adherence to all Health and Safety guidelines as set by Company Policy (IIPP), Dept of Public Health, OSHA and any other applicable agencies. - Assist store manager in other necessary paperwork and filing as needed PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: - Ability to safely handle up to #20 cases, containers, and bags - Standing for up to eight hours - Job involves repetitive tasks - Exposure to food ingredients and cleaning agents - Working indoors and out, also in refrigeration JOB REQUIREMENTS: - Minimum three years retail experience, Management or supervisory experience preferred - Commitment to customer service - Working familiarity and a commitment to continued education in all aspects of natural foods retailing: product lines, merchandising, business and product trends - Understanding of retail financial operations, cash handling, sales and margin, payroll and timekeeping - Ability to teach and comply with good safety practices for necessary equipment - Ability to comprehend and assist in compliance with all regulations and policies governing operations, both from the Company and from Government agencies such as DPH, OSHA, - -Weights & Measures, DOL ESA (wage and hour), ABC - Familiarity with Word and Excel DISCLAIMER The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this classification; they are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.
