Volunteers needed for the annual Bare Root Trees, Shrubs & Perennials Sale this April/May. Email if you would like to help! For every 4 hours you volunteer at the plant sale, you get a free plant or tree! Training is provided for anyone who is new to helping with this fundraising sale. Volunteer with your friends! First weekend of Fundraising Sale (April 26-27, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.): Shifts available: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. OR 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Second weekend of Fundraising Sale (May 2nd 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and May 3rd 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) Shifts available: May 2nd: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. OR May 3rd 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. OR 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Volunteer Opportunities Available: Parking Assistant: Direct parking traffic to avoid bottle necks or confusion. Greeter: Guide new customers to sales area or check receipts for paid items. Field Helper: Pull trees to be bagged. Gloves will be provided. Bagger: Dip bare root trees in water, place into bags, and shovel in sawdust. Carry trees to holding area as needed. Help customers retrieve held plants in holding area. Best to wear clothes that are water proof or able to get dirty. Checker: Write up sales slips, guide customers to cashier, ensure customer flow. Must have legible handwriting, and enjoy interacting with the public. Cashier: Complete purchase of plants or trees with customers; exchange any money (no coin change transactions). Take Down/Clean Up Helper: Assist with the take down of the event tables and tents, clean up all papers or debris and organize remaining plants. To Volunteer: Email us at if you would like to help!
