To apply, email your resume to: Immediate opening for a talented Cake Decorator Noe Valley Bakery, San Francisco's premier neighborhood bakery, is searching for a talented, driven cake decorator wanting to make an impact. This is a great opportunity if you appreciate a nurturing work environment, interesting work and a real chance to practice your craft and express your artistic creativity. Along with producing a wide variety of "house" cakes, tarts and cupcakes, you'll be responsible for creating cakes to customer specs and contributing to the direction of the product line and the collective vision of the cake department. You can sense that this is the perfect position for someone looking for a career and not just a job. It's important that you come in wanting to get better and bring positive energy and focus to your work. You must be aggressive in wanting to do the best job possible and then not settling on that. I'll show you what you need to know and how to get it done to be successful but you have to be committed to doing your best work and working as team. This is not something for a true beginner. You must have quality prior experience and/or attended a professional school. I need you to have seen the basics and practiced icing, piping and cake set-up techniques, buttercream, ganache, curds/fillings. 2D or 3D fondant work a HUGE plus. Please include some pictures of your work along with your resume. Shift is currently 2pm-10:30 pm but will swap to daytime hours (approx. 10am-6pm) once you're sufficiently trained. Days off TBD. Kaiser healthcare offered after 90 days as well as vacation and sick days. Pay is competitive and there's plenty of opportunity for advancement and pay increase as your skill improves and you become more valuable to not only us but to yourself. Some essential job duties & details: Split and set up cakes Finish frost and decorate cakes Collaborate on designs for customers or house themes Maintain a clean and efficient work station Help manage inventory A solid knowledge of best sanitary practices and be ServeSafe certified Carry 35lb ingredient containers Come to work engaged and want to get better every day
