Government Contract: 5 years FT; Non-exempt Email resumes with your hourly pay rate requirement to Job Description: • Collect, maintain and interpret quality control data to insure accurate patient test results. • Perform test, interpret and report patient test results in an accurate and timely manner. • Utilize the laboratory information system to input and extract patient and laboratory test information. • Document quality assurance information and function checks that may include refrigerator, temperatures, centrifuge speed, instrument maintenance, pipette calibrations. • Collect blood specimens and process a variety of body and non-body fluid specimens for analysis. • Prepare appropriate reagents, standards, and controls. • Clean, sort, and store laboratory glassware. • Perform routine and complex testing on patient specimens. Review results for appropriateness using the published regulatory guidelines and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Program (CLIP) regulations. • Examine patient specimens for discrepancies in collection, appearance, and handling. • Review patient's results for obvious errors relating to specimen handling, specimen integrity, and instrument function. Refers unusual request, results, and circumstances to the technical representative. Qualifications/Education Requirements: • PLEASE SHOW ON RESUME: Must have an associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution. • PLEASE SHOW ON RESUME: Must have Laboratory training that includes either completion of a clinical laboratory-training program approved by Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Studies (ABHES), Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) or American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP). • PLEASE SHOW ON RESUME: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician as defined by the American Society of Clinical Pathology. (ASCP) • PLEASE SHOW ON RESUME: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. • PLEASE SHOW ON RESUME: A minimum of sixty (60) semester hours, or equivalent, from an accredited institution that, at a minimum include twenty-four (24) semester hours of medical laboratory technology course, or twenty-four (24) semester hours of science course that include six (6) semester hours of biology, and twelve (12) semester hours of chemistry or medical laboratory technology in any combination. • Must have one (1) year medical laboratory experience within the past three (3) years.
