DCI will enable students to continue their language immersion in French, Spanish, and Mandarin while participating in inquiry-based education through the International Baccalaureate Middle and Diploma Years Programmes. Position Overview: This position is a 10-month teaching position and requires language fluency in one of DCI's three target languages (French, Spanish, or Mandarin) and in English. Instruction will be delivered in that target language for certain sections during the school day, and in English for others. Qualifications: A Master's Degree in secondary education or this content area is preferred (Bachelor's Degree is required). Able to meet HQT requirements under NCLB. Previous experience teaching in this content area is strongly preferred. Essential Responsibilities Deliver exceptional science instruction to diverse learners that reflects a deep understanding of, and integration with, the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), Common Core Standards, and IB MYP science curriculum framework. Ability to handle the intensity required to work in a high-performing charter school, and remain organized, responsible, and accountable. Ability to proactively manage the classroom learning environment in accordance with the school's PBIS to maximize student engagement and learning. Ability to accept and implement feedback received for real-time improvement. Interest and desire to engage in the IB MYP and language immersion Ability to do the professional development work needed to deliver instruction at a high level. Intellectual curiosity and pedagogy of inquiry. Striving for deeper meaning and making real-world connections in instruction. Sharing and igniting an intellectual spark with a diverse body of learners (both adults and students).
