That will help keep totals down a little, though still within our forecast range, but it also will lead to treacherous conditions earlier. NORFOLK-Tuesday is starting off in the mid-20s in most of the ABC13 viewing area. The temperatures will actually fall as the day goes on as the colder air makes its way into the region. Snow developing from the south - in North Carolina - is expected midday into the afternoon.. The moisture will come up from the South and around 4 p.m. or 5 p.m., the snow overtakes the region. "It will be heavy and steady through the overnight ," says 13News Now Meteorologist Craig Moeller. "When all is said and done, we have the potential to pick up quite a bit. Keep in mind, there will be some locally higher amounts in the mix," Moeller says. Blowing snow and drifts will also be an issue as winds could gust up to 30 miles per hour.
