Please include in the subject line, "Field Tech -- Chicago Area" POSITION SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for performing installation, maintenance, routine and/or emergency service on our centralized temperature and vital parameters monitoring systems at customer sites. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned: • Responsible for performing installation, validation, maintenance, routine and/or emergency service on our centralized monitoring systems. • Provide on-site user training as part of the overall system delivery. • Provide courteous and exemplary service and support to all Mesa Labs customers. • Required to maintain detailed field records, work orders and daily weekly and monthly schedules. • Perform system qualifications to Mesa Labs standards and protocols. • Work creatively, both alone and with other team members. • Ensure all equipment functions to the satisfaction of the customer. • Travel required, primarily in the Mountain, Pacific, and Central time zones. • Report back to the Operation Manager on a regular basis. TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: • Required to complete supervised in-house training as well as read and fully understand any pertinent training or department procedure manual. • The technician will be required to be proficient on all systems maintained by Mesa Labs. Education and/or Experience: • High school diploma or GED required. • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in computer science, networking, or electronics preferred. • 1-2 years' experience as an electrician, or installing and servicing alarm/monitoring systems, or related field. • Computer/network knowledgeable. • Calibration experience desirable. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with guests or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
