Teen Program Coordinator Job Type: Full Time Reports to: Assistant Director of Youth and Technology Programs Email: The Castle Square Tenants Organization (CSTO) is a 501c3 non-profit that serves the needs of the residents of Castle Square Apartments, and the surrounding community. The Castle Square Community Center is a state of the art, green facility that houses a variety of education, technology, and leadership programs, with the goal of preserving Castle Square Apartments as affordable housing by providing comprehensive programs and services that enable residents to improve their lives, and support a vibrant, healthy Castle Square Community The Youth Education Program, (YEP) at Castle Square is seeking an energetic, motivated, creative and caring youth worker to act as CSTO's Teen Program Coordinator. The Teen Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, development, and operation of all programs at the Castle Square Teen Center, including tutoring and college access, and our new AppInventor and Career and Entrepreneurship Opportunities (CEOs) programs. The Teen Program Coordinator must take initiative to plan and implement a Positive Youth Development program framework; supervise and model best youth development practices to program staff and volunteers in accordance with the Youth Education program planned objectives. Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for the supervision and management of teen program participants Create and implement age and developmentally appropriate activities Recruit and retain program participants through appropriate print and online marketing materials, events, collaborations, and partnerships. Build and strengthen existing programs such as AppInventor and CEOs Track behavioral and homework issues in addition to monitoring, sign in and check out visitors and members entering and leaving the facility to maintain center security Coordinate with other CSTO staff on youth development issues and organization-wide projects and events Responsible for planning and providing workshops, events and activities that strategically promote and recruit center members Participate in the planning, organizing, and scheduling of field trips, enrichment activities, special events and other year round program activities Provide day to day supervision of drop-in Teen Center Program insuring a safe, fun and educational environment Build and maintain relationships with youth participants, Castle Square residents, parents, local businesses, courts, police, high school, universities, and other community organizations; Participate in scheduled trainings, workshops, staff and supervisory meetings; Perform other duties as required; Minimum Entrance Qualifications: A minimum of one year related work experience and demonstrated ability to work effectively with children in the field of youth development. 21+ years of age Degree preferred in Child Development, Youth Development, Human Services, Education, Physical Education, or related field. Experience in a multicultural, community setting Bilingual English/Chinese (preferred, not mandated) CPR/First Aid certified (preferred) Energetic and outgoing personality, mediation, facilitation and listening skills Strong Communication skills (verbal and written) Computer Expertise (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) Massachusetts driver's license a plus. C.O.R.I and S.O.R.I. checks required.
