Primary responsibilities include managing and developing MPFP projects from concept to completion; supervise a small crew of designers and draw on resources of principal engineers; assist clients in defining project criteria and refining designs to meet their project goals; perform engineering analysis and calculations for functional systems; produce detailed engineering plans, equipment schedules, details, diagrams and specifications for integrated and complete mechanical systems. REQUIREMENTS: BSME from an accredited school PE license Minimum 7 years of responsible design engineering experience working in construction industry or as a lead operations and maintenance engineer in a high tech process or clean room facility; HVAC and process experience required; plumbing and fire protection experience a plus Experience in designing HVAC for high tech, semiconductor, pharmaceutical and small complicated labs Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office applications; experience in REVIT a plus Self-reliant; proven ability to work independently and coordinate one's work with a team Keen sense of how things actually work (practical and theoretical) Ability to use instrumentation in the field for measurement of mechanical equipment Proposal and report writing skills JOB DESCRIPTION Manage multiple projects from start to finish Write effective proposals Engineer and design HVAC, plumbing, process piping and fire protection building systems Select mechanical equipment (including equipment components) using technical proficiency with minimal influence from vendors Perform engineering calculations Write and edit specifications Direct designers in the efficient layout and distribution of mechanical systems Perform and supervise field work to determine existing conditions; some travel required Conduct construction observation duties including inspections, field engineering, field reports, participation in meetings, preparation of punch lists and close-out of projects Investigate problems including field measurement of mechanical system performance (T, Rh, dewpoint, pressure, flow, sound, voltage, amperage, etc.) Analyze measured data and trends and draw accurate conclusions Develop effective remedial solutions to mechanical problems Interested applicants may send their resume to
