PRESCHOOL TEACHER JOB DESCRIPTION *****Please note: Person must have fingerprints clearance and be in the system of community care licensing to apply.***** Qualifications: Person must be at least 18 years of age, professionally prepared as a teacher of young children, specifically in the field of early childhood education or development (minimum of 12 ECE units, three of these units must be related to the care of preschoolers, six months experience in a group of childcare program for children under five years old), and meeting all licensing agency requirements. Person must pass live scan fingerprinting and child abuse index as well as a physical exam, TB test and be CPR, first Aid and preventive health certified. Above all, the person must be a sensitive and mature individual who relates well to both children and adults. Description of responsibility includes the following: • Ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in care • Keeping observation and documentation files up to date • Assessments must be completed two weeks prior to start of Parent- Teacher Conferences. • Preparing and/or serving meals • Cleaning tables before and after meals • Planning and preparing of curriculum activities • Leading certain activities such as story time and selected games • Accompanying children on outings to the park or special field trips • General supervision and management of Children ages Infants-9 years old • Clean up of playroom, kitchen, and bathroom • Attending monthly staff meetings. • Attending any in service staff trainings. • Attending and completing two workshops per year related to professional growth.
