This position displays effective communication skills while performing the following functions: ■Verbal and written communications. 2.Respond to telephone and written inquiries. ■Explain Medicare benefits, policies and procedures and responding to all general information questions pertaining to the Medicare Part A and/or B Programs. ■Respond to Medicare Secondary Payer claim inquiries. ■Meet departmental production and quality standard by servicing inquiries efficiently and accurately. ■Utilize all available tools, (e.g., best practices, technology, coaching, etc.), to achieve productivity and quality standards. ■Use the telephone system with the proper log in and out procedures, AUX codes, and transferring 3.Service inquiries and handle follow-up work accurately. ■Includes classifying inquiries into the appropriate category; researching imaged records, system reports, the Medicare on-line system and various policy and procedural guidelines. ■Provide proper information about the status of claims (when appropriate), the IVR, the amount of payment, the reasons for rejection/denial and the status of checks and reviews; securing all necessary data and initiating the corrective action as appropriate when an inquiry requires additional action (e.g., review, delayed processing, fraud). ■Timely completion of certain follow-up work resulting from the original inquiry, and continually seeking ways to improve quality by utilizing feedback, training and updates. ■Use the desktop system to access the claims processing systems (MCSDT, FISS, CATTS, Internet, Intranet, etc.) 4. Remain current with reference materials, memos, bulletins that note changes in Medicare policies, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)Regulations, medical interpretations, departmental procedures, or other factors which affect current or future Medicare claim payment or inquiry handling procedures. ■Review Internet, Intranet and emails on a daily basis to remain current on issues and inventory levels/goals. Minimum Requirements: ■High School diploma or equivalent ■Excellent oral and written communication skills ■Working knowledge of MS Word, Windows, Outlook, Excel ■Intermediate keyboard skills (40 minimum wpm) ■Experience using multiple systems
