Would you like to do this using the latest cloud computing technologies? Do you have a knack for helping companies understand application architectures and integration approaches, and the consultative and leadership skills to launch a project on a trajectory to success? The ideal candidate would be familiar with security best practices for applications, servers, and networks. As a Cloud Architect within 2ND Watch, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a broad use of Amazon's utility computing web resources. Your broad responsibilities will include: •Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects •Developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies •Being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services The candidate must possess customer facing skills that will allow them to represent 2nd Watch well within a solution provider's environment and drive discussions with senior personnel within the company, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact and give guidance to software developers and architects. The ideal candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. Preferred Qualifications: Due to phenomenal growth, we are looking for Windows or Linux Cloud Architects to join our Professional Services Engineering Team and represent 2nd Watch within solution providers' environments, as well as directly to end customers. As Cloud Architect, you will work directly with customers to help deliver solutions using Amazon's Web Services. To be considered for the role of Cloud Architect you will need: • Highly technical experience with large server and application deployments and virtualization • Understanding of application, sever, and network security. Additionally, our ideal candidate will possess: •Working knowledge of software development practices and technologies. • Industry certifications; ex: Microsoft Certified IT Professional. •The right person will be highly technical and analytical, possess 10 plus years of implementation/consulting experience. •Windows Architects should have experience designing solutions with technologies like: MSSQL, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, IIS 7 & 8, Exchange, Active Directory, VMWare, Hyper-V,etc. •Linux Architects- should have experience designing solutions with multiple distro's (RHEL, CentOS, etc), Apache, MySQL, Tomcat, OpenVZ, VMware,ext. •Working knowledge of AWS and/or Azure, or experience building High-Availability or High Traffic infrastructure would be preferred. •Technical degree preferred; Computer Science or Mathematics background highly desired. •Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to speak with enterprise level customers. •Experience working within the software development or Internet industries is highly desired •Understanding of application, server, and network security. This role is based out of our Liberty Lake, WA office. Up to 30% travel.
