The Beverage Technologist will be responsible for creating, revising, and matching flavor bases in support of our business efforts. You will be responsible for most all aspects of beverage processing (i.e. pasteurization parameters, carbonation levels, order of addition, etc.).
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be a team leader and must have demonstrated strong leadership and interpersonal skills inside and outside of the Beverage Department. Plus, you must be able to multi-task and prioritize projects and tasks in a fast-paced, challenging, yet rewarding environment. Additional requirements include:
• B.S. degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Nutrition or other related Science with over 10 years relevant experience, or M.S. Degree with 8 or more years of beverage development experience. • Experience with food and beverage microbiological principles, ingredients, sweeteners, acidulants, colors, vitamins, minerals, proteins and hurdles. • A firm understanding of natural and artificial flavor systems, flavor profiles, flavor types, and flavor applications, especially as they relate to various beverage products (i.e. Juices, Carbonated, Sport Drinks, Energy Drinks, Flavored Waters, Coffees, Teas, Alcoholic beverages and Powdered beverages). • Knowledge of flavor and beverage regulations within the US and Canada. • Excellent oral presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members, colleagues and customers . • Beverage Production Experience or Technical Service a plus. • Ability to travel for potential demos and production runs, up to 10% travel.
